The military barracks in Isone have been home to the Grenadier School (now the Special Forces Training Center) of the Swiss Army since 1973.
The wooden framed doors with synthetic resin surfaces have a special frame construction that allowed all electrical cables to be built in in a covered position. The Plexiglas lettering windows were integrated flush. The stainless steel pedestal-plates could also be flush-mounted in the frame and sash. The oversized fire compartments with door-in-door concept and sliding doors with automatically closing devices provide the desired security in the barracks. Custom-made stainless steel jamb cladding conceals the existing casings and gives the rooms a fresh, modern ambience.
