To extend its market leadership in Central Europe for (wood and glass) doors to other European markets with integrated, sustainable solutions. This is the goal of Arbonia AG, having achieved a market-leading position in its core markets in Central Europe.
Future-oriented product portfolio with growth products
Arbonia combines established sales channels that generate a reliable cash flow (specialist retail) with growth channels (DIY and project business) that are expanding at an above-average rate. The doors business generates steadily growing cash flow, which will increase further as a result of the completed investment programme to boost production capacity. With both traditional and innovative products for residential and other building construction, as well as for new builds and renovations, Arbonia addresses long-term megatrends such as urbanisation, energy efficiency, carbon neutrality, and digitalisation and automation in the construction industry.
Cost leadership
Arbonia has continuously invested in the automation of door production, thereby establishing a strong foundation for its cost leadership. Locations in Central, Western and Eastern Europe offer short transport routes and attractive cost structures, combined with an optimal geographical location. Through vertical integration and the acquisitions of the Portuguese door market leader Cicomol and the German steel frame manufacturer RZB, Arbonia is strengthening its value chain, improving margins and, at the same time, simplifying its processes in the long term.
Positive market outlook for residential construction
Urbanisation, an ageing building stock and high demand in conurbations continue to ensure excellent prospects for residential construction. In the 2025 financial year, this was already evident in the strong renovation business and in the commercial and project business, whilst new-build activity remained subdued in some core markets. In the medium to long term, climate targets will require extensive refurbishments, for example in Germany, where there is a significant backlog of housing completions – a sustained growth driver for Arbonia.
Proven track record
Arbonia has successfully completed its transformation into the European market leader for interior doors and access solutions: following the sale of the Windows division, the sale of the Climate division was also finalised in 2025. In 2025, the new, focused Arbonia achieved organic growth of 3.7% in a challenging market environment and increased EBITDA to CHF 56.3 million. At the 2026 Annual General Meeting, Christoph Ganz was elected as the new Chairman of the Board of Directors and the other Board members were re-elected, underlining the company’s continuous, value-driven development.
