In retirement homes and care facilities, sound insulation is more than just a technical specification – it is the foundation for dignity, rest and a self-determined life. We demonstrate how this works in practice using the example of a modern retirement home in Rüdesheim.
Comfort and function: a portrait of the Rüdesheim senior centre
Caring for people with people is the primary goal of MENetatis GmbH. The company, which operates senior centres in Germany, is committed to people in old age. Comprehensive nursing care and a living environment that meets the needs and quality requirements of old age are the recipe for success of this medium-sized family business. In the new senior citizens' centre in Rüdesheim, our door solutions - including soundproof doors - provide a homely and functional ambience and underline the high standard of care on offer.
MENetatis emphasises self-determination, independence and the right to privacy in its assisted living facilities. The centre achieves a high level of resident and staff satisfaction through a quality management system that consistently incorporates these values into all planning decisions. With the new senior citizens' centre in Rüdesheim, MENetatis is continuing its operator concept: first-class inpatient care in a modern, homely atmosphere - firmly integrated into the local community structure.
Privacy begins at the door. Soundproof doors play a central role in ensuring that residents can really withdraw into their rooms - they acoustically separate their personal retreat from the corridor, communal areas and the day-to-day running of the centre.
Privacy in single rooms - door solutions for every area
The retirement home was developed by Depant Bauträger GmbH & Co. KG of Giessen and subsequently acquired by the Hamburg-based INP Group. It thus fills a gap in care provision in the Rheingau region and offers 101 care places, 16 day-care places, 34 serviced apartments, a bistro-café and a hairdressing salon. All 101 care places are exclusively in single rooms with en-suite bathrooms. The senior citizens’ centre impresses with its modern architecture, which, together with numerous windows and a bespoke colour scheme, creates a welcoming atmosphere. We support this concept with door solutions in various designs – from standard doors to functional doors featuring sound insulation, fire protection or accessibility features.
Soundproof doors with climate class 2 for health and well-being
The standard doors in the CePaL surface "Authentic Sand DA" blend in perfectly with the colour concept of the house and provide natural light with light cut-outs, even in dark corners. The clients placed particular importance on sound insulation when choosing the functional doors. Our soundproof doors in classes SK2 (Rw,P = 37 dB) and SK3 (Rw,P = 42 dB) ensure peace and privacy in the rooms and communal areas of the house.
Furthermore, our functional doors are characterised by excellent energy efficiency, as their heat transfer coefficients (U-values) range between 1.1 and 2.4 W/m²K. This saves valuable energy every day at the retirement home in Rüdesheim during the colder months and ensures a comfortable indoor climate during the warmer months. Thanks to their excellent thermal transmittance values, our functional doors are ideal for modern new builds as well as for energy-efficient renovations and refurbishments.
Increased safety through accessibility and fire protection
These accessible door solutions meet the requirements of DIN 18040. In addition, the doors are ift-certified. The ift is the Institute for Testing and Certification of Construction Products. It guarantees that our doors have been objectively tested for properties such as durability, air permeability and burglary resistance. A sliding door fitting with a push-button allows for automatic opening and emphasises the accessible living concept.
Our fire and smoke protection doors complete the range of door solutions in the building and combine function with design. They meet all technical requirements for modern smoke, fire and sound protection – even in combination, such as a fire/smoke protection combination with radiation protection or as a draught-proofing element with FS30-1 approval.
Choosing our door solutions perfectly complements the building’s design and meets all the requirements of modern care homes that pride themselves on high standards of care, comfort and privacy.
Soundproof doors and other functional doors play a key role in creating a quieter, safer and more pleasant environment, which supports both physical and mental well-being.
