RWD Schlatter is not Switzerland's number 1 for doors by chance: Just like ecologically valuable products, partnership-based customer relationships are crucial for RWD Schlatter.
This includes short distances. The new 5000 square metre logistics centre, which went into operation at the end of April 2023 at the headquarters in Roggwil, is an expression of being close to customers and serving them with short delivery times.
At the same time, the new building also offers plenty of space for a warehouse of standard doors, which is stocked by the German sister company Prüm. The latter's plant in Rhineland-Palatinate (D) is currently being expanded to become the largest door factory in Europe. Together, Arbonia's Doors Division offers the Swiss market a unique full range of high-quality functional doors produced by RWD Schlatter and standard doors produced by Prüm. The Division markets the joint specialist trade range under the Arbonia Doors brand. In this way, it continuously pursues its goal: to be the best partner for the specialist trade, with a broad, first-class range and delivery times that are unique in Switzerland.
The roof of the warehouse and logistics hall is equipped with 750 photovoltaic modules, which today cover about 25 per cent of the electricity needs of the energy-intensive production. In the coming years, RWD Schlatter plans to install more photovoltaic systems on existing buildings.
The new building is a commitment to the Roggwil site and to Switzerland as a business location. The groundbreaking ceremony took place in spring 2022; construction work lasted a good year. Once the new warehouse and logistics hall is up and running, the market in French-speaking Switzerland and the trade in German-speaking Switzerland can be supplied within five to ten days.
Also new is a showroom in the main building, combined with a new training centre that can be used for employees, customers, architects or for external purposes. The hall, showroom and training centre continue RWD Schlatter's strategy of increasing capacity and efficiency and optimising service for customers.
