When we manufacture doors or windows, they are never "off the peg". As a rule, the elements are used in public and commercial buildings - in individual cases also in the private sector. Typical building types are
- Banks, insurance companies, offices, commercial buildings, administration, retail outlets
- Places of assembly such as theatres, concert halls, community centres, restaurants
- Educational establishments, universities, colleges
- Kindergartens, schools
- Homes, care facilities, hospitals, retirement homes
- Hotels, palaces, castles, listed buildings
- Special buildings, flats, villas, exclusive houses
The requirements often differ in the various areas of application. A small list of possible requirements can be found in our "Service - Functional doors" section. There is a tabular overview of "Requirements for doors in daycare centres, schools and workplaces".
Safety has priority
The specific definitions of the requirements can be found in the building regulations, the special building regulations and/or in the regulations on occupational health and safety. In our "Building regulations" service area, we show examples of how to read the building regulations relating to doors.
We have included some of the key documents on the subject of "Doors and occupational safety" in our download area. You can search for the documents on the following websites:

Our fire protection windows, external fire protection doors or pergola doors with fire protection requirements help when fire protection limit distances cannot be maintained, light transmission in fire walls is desired or entrances and exits cannot be located differently. The range of applications for these windows and external doors is just as varied as for internal doors.
