Maximum safety with a clear view: Fire-resistant windows and glazing

Maximum security is often associated with opaqueness - but with fire protection windows, the view remains unobstructed!

Such windows are required for similar reasons to external fire doors. Opening fire protection windows are high-quality safety products. They are classified as EI30, EI60 or EI90 windows.

The fire protection property can be combined with self-closing (C2) or smoke protection (S200 or Sa). Example: EI90-C2-S200.

We offer fixed-glazed fire-resistant windows (fire-resistant glazing) for both interior and exterior applications. We can manufacture elements with a fire resistance period of 30 or 90 minutes. These elements are classified nationally as F30 or F90 glazing.

Double-sash fire protection window in a test opening; orange glowing flames behind the glazing; visible measurement markings, digital time display on the left and stand with sensor cables in the foreground.
Decorated white stucco ceiling with reliefs, including an oval blue-tinted window with grille and several ceiling spotlights.
Double-leaf, white-framed door with multiple divided glass panes and semi-circular fanlight in a light grey façade; reflections of a courtyard building in the panes; two wall lights at the sides; paved threshold.
Closed window with white frame, four equally sized panels (2×2) with muntins and vertical bars, two central handles; beige wall and snow-covered window sill on the outside.

Fire and smoke - wind and weather

External doors and glazing with fire protection requirements are not mass-produced products. In contrast to interior doors, glazing and exterior doors must also withstand weather conditions and retain their function as a final building element in the long term.

With our certificates, we are also able to manufacture arcade doors and external doors according to historical models (listed buildings). The fire resistance period of external doors is 30 minutes. According to the European classification reports, the elements can be labelled as EI30 doors. In conjunction with self-closing and the smoke protection certificate, the classification is EI30C2S200.

Of course, we also supply the necessary certificates in accordance with DIN EN 14351-1 for the external elements, including driving rain tightness, air permeability and thermal transmittance (U-value).

Fixed glazing is classified according to national specifications. Here we manufacture F30 and F90 fire-resistant glazing- for both interior and exterior applications.

Not possible - sometimes it happens!

If there is no ready-made certificate for the desired building element, we know the possibilities under building law to prove the usability of elements. For nationally classified components, for example, applying for "approval in individual cases" is a common way of being allowed to use these special elements in accordance with the applicable building regulations - although there are limits here too.
