The project involved fitting out a hotel with a capacity of 225 rooms, including 29 individually themed suites and 6 exclusive suites in the lighthouse.

About the project

The order involved the supply and installation of a total of 650 hotel room and bathroom doors. The room entrance and connecting doors were designed as sound-insulated doors with sound insulation values of Rw, P = 42 dB and Rw, P = 52 dB respectively. In addition, the room and connecting doors were designed as multifunctional doors offering both fire and smoke protection (T30 RS-1) and sound insulation (Rw, P = 42 dB). These doors were fitted with Dorma free-swing door closers and covered cable substitutes to combine functionality with modern design.

The optical features of the doors underline the consistent implementation of the ‘New England’ design concept and demonstrate the designers’ flair for originality. Highlights include panel doors with a special lacquer finish, as well as bathroom doors etched in transparent red, yellow and turquoise. Some doors were designed with old surfaces in a ‘wormhole’ finish, whilst others stood out for their plank-like character featuring ship’s portholes. There were also doors with an elegant optical brass-effect trim, which emphasised the high-quality character of the interior design.
