Europe’s market leader in interior doors
With state-of-the-art production facilities, a strong capital structure and a clear growth strategy, Arbonia is ideally positioned for the future, both in terms of organic growth and selective acquisitions, to further expand its market leadership in Europe.
... forms a strong alliance ...
... for profitable growth
By the end of the 2029 financial year, we aim to increase our turnover to CHF 820–850 million, whilst profitability is set to rise further to an EBITDA margin of 14–15 %. Following the high levels of investment in recent years, our future investment levels will also be significantly lower. This will enable us to strengthen our cash flow sustainably, so that we expect free cash flow to be in the region of CHF 55–65 million by the end of the planning horizon.
Further details on our medium-term planning can be found in the presentation for Investor Day 2025.
Cost leadership
Arbonia has continuously invested in the automation of door production, thereby establishing a strong foundation for its cost leadership. Sites in Central, Western and Eastern Europe offer short transport routes and attractive cost structures, combined with optimal geographical locations. Through vertical integration and the acquisitions of Cicomol, the Portuguese market leader in doors, and RZB, the German steel door frame manufacturer, Arbonia is strengthening its value chain, improving margins and, at the same time, streamlining its processes in the long term.
full-range retailer
Our wide range of products – from entry-level and standard doors, mainly for residential construction, to premium solutions for hospitals, offices, leisure facilities and hotels – enables us to further expand our market-leading position whilst seizing growth opportunities in adjacent markets. Our core expertise lies in doors and door frames made of wood, glass and metal, as well as shower solutions and room partition systems.
Industry 4.0
Arbonia is firmly committed to digitalisation and automation in order to make production more efficient, flexible and resource-efficient. Through the intelligent networking of machines, IT systems and production facilities, processes can be monitored in real time, bottlenecks identified at an early stage and maintenance planned proactively. Modern control systems enable precise planning, reduce downtime and increase overall plant efficiency. At the same time, Arbonia invests in staff training to ensure that digital technologies can be utilised to the full. In this way, the company ensures future-proof, efficient and sustainable production.
Sustainability
For Arbonia, acting with integrity is an essential prerequisite for the company’s long-term success. This includes treating employees, suppliers, customers and investors, as well as the environment and natural resources, in a responsible manner. In addition to wood as a sustainable raw material from certified sources (FSC® and PEFC), we rely on renewable energy sources.
Innovation
Arbonia consistently relies on state-of-the-art technologies and innovative production processes to boost manufacturing efficiency, ensure product quality despite the ongoing shortage of skilled workers, and optimise margins at the same time. With the investments now complete, we have established a robust foundation for flexible and efficient production processes tailored to our customers’ needs.
We are also continually developing bespoke solutions and innovations for our products, such as our linoleum doors, which were developed in collaboration with Forbo.
Diversification
Competitive advantages through acquisitions
: Arbonia is systematically strengthening its market position through strategic acquisitions along the value chain. With the acquisition of Cicomol, the Portuguese market leader in doors, Arbonia is tapping into a new, attractive market and expanding its presence in Southern Europe. The takeover of the German door frame manufacturer RZB in Rüthen complements the existing timber range with steel door frames and deepens vertical integration, thereby improving margins and streamlining supply chains. Furthermore, acquisitions such as Dimoldura and Rozière broaden the product portfolio and market access. In this way, Arbonia efficiently combines production capacities, expertise and regional presence, and is continuously strengthening its position as the European market leader for interior doors and access solutions.
Independence
Reduced reliance on individual markets
Through its expansion into Southern, Western and Eastern Europe, Arbonia is increasingly diversifying its geographical footprint. With Dimoldura, the market leader for wooden interior doors in Spain, as well as its French subsidiary Rozière and the Portuguese company Cicomol, Arbonia is tapping into attractive south-western European markets. In this way, Arbonia is increasingly offsetting fluctuations in demand in individual regions such as Germany and placing its earnings on a significantly broader footing. At the same time, the company spreads economic risks across several countries and benefits from differing economic trends. This reduces dependence on individual sales markets, increases resilience to regional crises and creates a stable foundation for long-term growth.
Last Acquisitions (since 2024)
Dimoldura – Spanish market leader in solid wood interior doors, based in Toledo, with a strong position in the residential construction and DIY sectors, as well as high organic growth.
Rozière – French manufacturer of solid wood interior doors, expanding access to the French specialist retail sector and complementing the portfolio in south-western Europe.
Cicomol – Portuguese market leader in doors, strengthening its presence on the Iberian Peninsula and expanding its commercial and residential construction business.
RZB (Rüthener Zargenbau) – A German manufacturer of steel door frames, complementing the timber product range and deepening vertical integration along the value chain.

On the one hand, to gain further market share and consolidate its position in these markets, and on the other, to benefit from the forthcoming upturn in the construction sector.
Furthermore, the Wood Solutions division stands for the highest quality, design diversity and sustainability throughout the entire value chain. With strong brands, we offer a comprehensive range of door solutions for residential and commercial construction. Thanks to continuous product innovation (see linoleum doors), digital sales solutions and a clear focus on customer needs, we are setting new standards in the industry. Sustainable materials, energy-efficient production processes and forward-looking technologies help us to consistently fulfil our environmental responsibilities. Arbonia thus positions itself as a reliable partner for high-quality timber products – today and in the future.

This positions Arbonia as a leading provider of high-quality glass products for interior applications, combining innovation, sustainability and a strong customer focus.
Positive market outlook for residential construction
Due to urbanization and the age of the building stock as well as the additional support from the European Green Deal, there are very positive prospects for residential construction.
Both residential construction and the renovation of apartments have been able to catch up on a large part of their construction activity following the restrictive protective measures during the pandemic. However, the (Central) European markets also offer excellent prospects in the medium to long term. Firstly, there is the strong trend towards urbanization, which applies to almost all countries and is resulting in such a high demand for living space that new construction cannot keep up with it. Due to the high demand, tradesmen's capacities are so heavily utilized that renovation activity can hardly be increased. As a result, the building stock in Europe continues to age and renovations have to be carried out as soon as the new demand is more or less satisfied. A large proportion of the building stock must at least be renovated to make it more energy-efficient if the climate targets of European countries are to be achieved. In Germany, for example, such a development is not foreseeable even in the medium term, because around 3 annual completions of apartments (~ 750,000) are waiting for construction to start.
Proven track record
Thanks to the proven track record of our management with a high proportion of shares in their remuneration, we are making the right investments to increase productivity and profitability, thereby creating value for shareholders.
Following the sale of the Windows Division, the management of Arbonia has successfully completed a transformation process lasting many years from a holding company with several divisions to the European market leader for interior doors and access solutions with the sale of the Climate Division. By means of investments, acquisitions, production consolidations and relocations, considerable added value was created and distributed to shareholders. These include the Board of Directors and Group Management of Arbonia AG, who receive part of their remuneration in shares. In the case of the Board of Directors, 50% of its remuneration is paid in shares and the Group Executive Management in turn receives 50% of its variable remuneration in shares. In both cases, a vesting period of 4 years applies.
Currently (as at 31.07.2024), the participation of the Board of Directors, Group Management and senior management (also with a share component in the variable remuneration) amounts to around 3.9% of the share capital. With this focus, Arbonia ensures that management creates value in the long-term interests of shareholders.
