These are the colour trends for 2021

Refreshing contrasts

New year, new happiness! The colour trends for 2021 reflect exactly that: colours for more courage and hope. We could do with that, right?

With every new year, we also welcome new colour trends. Especially now, when more people are at home a lot, the home is particularly important as a place of well-being. A change of wallpaper can be a nice change in the truest sense of the word. It's good to know which colours are particularly popular here.

This year, the colour specialist Pantonehas announced two trend colours: A medium grey called "Ultimate Gray" and the radiant yellow shade "Illuminating". Leatrice Eiseman, Executive Director of the Pantone Color Institute, explains why the colour institute chose these two shades:

"Together, the solid Ultimate Grey and the radiant Illuminating convey a positive message of inner strength. Practical and robust, but also warming and optimistic - this is a colour combination for hope and resilience. Strength and confidence are food for the human soul."

The duo also looks great within your own four walls. The grey tone is particularly suitable as a solid base colour, while the bright sunny yellow cuts a fine figure as a skilful splash of colour in decorative elements. For example, the combinations grey sofa and yellow cushions, grey bed and yellow blanket or yellow wall and grey door work very well. The colour tones create a beautiful contrast and not only radiate a desire for consistency, but also a positive mood.

The grey tones of the G-TEC© doors from GARANT fit in particularly well with this colour scheme and the radiant yellow. The "graphite grey" shade comes particularly close to the Pantone colour recommendation. And if that is too garish in combination with yellow, the three discreet G-TEC© grey tones also cut a fine figure with white or slightly tinted walls.

The innovative G-TEC© surfaces are also interesting thanks to their high-tech coating. Fingerprints don't stand a chance on the door leaf and frame. In addition to these anti-fingerprint properties, the surfaces are lightfast, less sensitive to scratches and stand for a brilliant design with a long service life.

Natural colours

Colour specialists Farrow & Ball see natural green tones in particular leading the way this year.

While bold colours such as navy blue were still in vogue in 2020, this trend forecast is all about harmonious and calming colours. If you need a touch of freshness in your home, it's best to opt for green and natural tones. Sage green tones are particularly popular in 2021. Unusual yet simple is the motto here: many combinations are possible with this shade of green. The soft colour creates a calming atmosphere and exudes a light freshness. The delicate green works particularly well with grey tones and goes wonderfully with a Scandinavian furnishing style.

The tone harmonises with wood and other natural materials. Doors with a wood look, such as the CePal doors, also fit perfectly here. GARANT offers a wide range of wood surfaces, which are characterised in particular by their high-resolution decor quality. Innovative printing processes ensure naturally genuine veneer reproductions. Thanks to their extremely scratch-, impact- and abrasion-resistant surfaces, CePal doors are absolute all-rounders in terms of everyday suitability.

Soothing earthy tones

" Brave Ground" - this is the colour of the year 2021 for the colour specialists at the Dulux Global Aesthetic Center. The earth tone has a calming effect and combines well with cappuccino tones and or strong, brown colours. According to Dulux, the warm "Brave Ground" is intended to offer space for change and encourage. It is reminiscent of nature and radiates stability in turbulent times - if that isn't perfect for 2021.

A wide range of combinations are possible in this colour scheme. Neutral combinations are also possible, e.g. with a white lacquered door a timeless yet modern look is created here.
