Doors with premium edge: In the centre of life - bumper shelf

Our doors with a premium edge don't care about hard everyday wear and tear. The new premium edge is based on zero-joint technology - a development from GARANT. The revolutionary thing about the new edgeband technology is its seamless appearance. This not only looks high-quality, but also ensures high impact resistance.

What makes the premium edge special

The innovative edgeband protects against unintentional everyday damage and is also characterised by its durability. This is achieved through production using functional layer technology. It ensures homogeneous sealing of the door leaf edge with the frame wood and the edge surface. The tight edge seal makes the joint resistant to soiling, significantly more resistant to mechanical damage and more resistant to water and aggressive cleaning agents. The zero joint makes it quick and easy to clean with standard household cleaning agents. No residue remains in open joints.

Other edgeband technologies use hot-melt adhesive, which leaves a visible joint between the door and the edgeband. If joints occur here, unsightly damage or even cracks occur. With the GARANT premium edgeband, a two millimetre thick edgeband made of polypropylene plastic is inserted into the door rebate. The edgeband fits seamlessly into the door without any visible transitions. This fine functional layer forms an almost invisible bond with the door and makes it extremely impact-resistant. It also has a high UV resistance and light fastness of level 6-8 according to the wool scale and based on EN ISO 4892-1 (assessment according to blue scale EN ISO 105-B02).

Attached everywhere

Doors with GARANT premium edgeband score points in many places of use: they can withstand a busy day at nursery and a lively school day. Even if building blocks fly or people push and shove, the robust edge protection can withstand it. The GARANT premium edgeband also scores points here with its small circumferential radius on the edge of the door leaf. This means a reduced risk of injury. It is not for nothing that this is also known as the KITA edge.

In offices or apartment blocks, the edge technology offers lasting protection for all doors that are used by many people. And in the hotel industry, the edges easily withstand suitcases and trolleys that carelessly bump into them.

Suitable for medical and chemical environments

Thanks to the homogeneous sealing of the door leaf edge, doors with GARANT premium edges are also suitable for use in hospitals, retirement homes, doctors' surgeries and laboratories. The edge is resistant to chemicals and has increased moisture resistance. Doors with GARANT premium edgeband are therefore more resistant to water and water vapour in the finished edge area than conventional doors and have good resistance to various aggressive liquids.
