In week 21, there are two aspects of doors in the press that illustrate the significance of these building elements.
One is the wooden door of the synagogue in Halle, which was built by carpenter Thomas Thiele and resisted the attempted attack. The Zeit magazine (supplement to "Die Zeit", see attachment) reports on the work of carpenter Thiele.
On the other hand, "Die Zeit" also deals with the construction of the new Berlin Airport. Airport boss Darldrup explicitly mentions the complex doors as the main sticking point in the whole misery of the new building. Even if presumably few wooden doors were used here, the example shows that planning cannot begin early enough once a certain level of complexity is reached.
