As a building supplier for products and solutions for interior doors made of wood and glass, Arbonia has a responsibility to the environment and climate. We see great potential in the transformation to an environmentally friendly economy and would like to make a contribution to making buildings more sustainable with our product, development and service portfolio. By reducing greenhouse gas emissions along the entire value chain, through product innovations and new solutions, we aim to reduce the environmental impact of our business activities and those of our clients.


Climate change

  • Commitment to the Science Based Targets Initiative (SBTi) and to short and long-term emission reductions in line with the SBTi Net Zero Standard
  • Use energy more efficiently through process optimization (operations, production, logistics), improvements to machines and technologies or energy-related restorations
  • Using renewable energy through photovoltaics and biomass cogeneration plants
  • Reduction of indirect emissions in the upstream and downstream value chain
  • Incorporating physical climate risks into the risk management process

Biodiversity and ecosystems

  • Responsible procurement of wood (chain of custody certifications)
  • Continuous transition to water-based coatings
  • Reforestation and forest conversion

Resource use and circular economy

  • Designing products that can be manufactured in the most resource-efficient and recyclable way possible
  • Material selection (preference for wood in the production of doors and frames)
  • Maintaining the value of products, extending their service life (prevention, maintenance and repair)
  • Resource-efficient production, optimisation of manufacturing processes, modernisation of machinery
  • Production that is as error-free as possible and high quality to avoid waste
  • Minimising waste and promoting treatment methods to keep materials in circulation for as long as possible
