Arbonia has defined three topics within Climate as material. Central strategies and measures for continuous improvement in these ranges are outlined below.
Emissions and energy
- Arbonia is aiming for an average annual reduction in operational CO2 emissions from Scope 1 and 2 of 4.2% by 2035 (compared to the reference year 2020)
- Commitment to the Science Based Targets Initiative (SBTi) and to short and long-term emission reductions in line with the SBTi Net Zero Standard
- Use energy more efficiently through process optimization (operations, production, logistics), improvements to machines and technologies or energy-related restorations
- Using renewable energy through photovoltaics and biomass cogeneration plants
- Maintenance and construction of forests
- Certified energy and environmental management systems in certain companies
Use of resources and circular economy
- Designing products that can be produced as resource-efficiently and recyclably as possible
- Continuously reduce resource consumption through process optimization
- Production that is as error-free and high quality as possible to avoid rejects and complaints
Product responsibility
- Development of innovative solutions, entering into collaborations
- Resource-efficient production, optimization of manufacturing processes, modernization of machinery
- Quality management (client security and health, dealing with problematic components)
- Employee training
- Maintaining the value of products, extending service life (prevention, maintenance and repair)
- Material selection (preference for wood in the production of doors and casings)
- Digitize exhibitions and sample exhibits
